Truck Driver for Carrie Underwood Tour Killed in Accident
STONINGTON, CT – A truck driver carrying stage equipment for Carrie Underwood's Play On tour for a performance at Foxwoods Casino's MGM Grand Theater was killed in a road accident March 20. News reports identified the driver as an Oklahoma-based man in his late 40s, but authorities declined to release his identity until a forensic investigation was complete.
The accident happened about 8 a.m. on Interstate 95 at Taugwonk Road in Stonington, a few miles away from the performance venue. Underwood was able to perform as planned that evening, despite the accident. She sand a tearful rendition of Temporary Home in the truck driver's honor.
