Music & Lights Joins L-Acoustics K1/KUDO Pilot Program

VASTERAS, Sweden – Swedish rental company Music Lights has joined the L-Acoustics K1/KUDO pilot program and will take delivery of a system this month. The company joins several other rental outfits around the world that are collaborating with the L-Acoustics R D team to field test the new system.
Music Lights' system, which will be used for arenas, stadiums and large outdoor festivals, will consist of 48 K1 line source cabinets along with K1-SB and SB28 subwoofers, 36 KUDO line source boxes and LA-RAK touring racks fitted with LA8 amplified controllers.

US: After the speculation and pre-hype, Apple has finally unveiled its iPad, writes Music Week’s Eamonn Forde. The touchscreen tablet device will ship to retail in 60 days and is primarily positioned as an e-reader. As expected, it has already been described by tech bloggers as a “Kindle killer”.

Are We Living in “Groundhog Day?”

For those of you who watched the Grammy Awards on Sunday night (and apparently there were more of you this year than any year since 2004), you may have had a feeling of déjà vu when you saw virtually the same group of stars that clustered together in 2009, 2008, etc. Does this perhaps remind you — at least a little — of the 1993 film Groundhog Day? You know, like Bill Murray’s character hearing “I Got You Babe” every morning?

Now, if you happen to want to hear the same song at the same time every day, that’s fine with us. But sometimes it’s fun to let the needle find a new groove.

Audioco of Mexico, Dhawan in India Add Soundcraft Si3 Consoles

MEXICO CITY and NEW DELHI – Audioco of Mexico City and New-Delhi based Dhawan Electricals Pvt Ltd. both recently purchased Soundcraft Si3 consoles.
According to Jose Antonio Chapa, president of Audioco, the Si3 boasts a variety of attractive features and functions. The EQ is very precise and powerful, and the gates and compressors are incredible, Chapa said. The preamps are powerful but silent. The FaderGlow feature makes it easy to tell where you are working, and with the OLED screens you will never get lost.
