HONG KONG – This past winter, the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre performed 20 shows of Leslie Bricusse's Scrooge, a musical based on Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, at the Hong Kong City Hall's 463-seat proscenium theatre, putting HKRep's new Meyer Sound system to use.
Space is very limited, so the speaker system has to be as small as possible, yet able to deliver exceptional sound pressure levels, said sound designer Yuen Cheuk-wa. There are bangs, thunder, explosions, tornados, and low drones, which demand a lot of headroom and low-frequency extension.

For those of you who watched the Grammy Awards on Sunday night (and apparently there were more of you this year than any year since 2004), you may have had a feeling of déjà vu when you saw virtually the same group of stars that clustered together in 2009, 2008, etc. Does this perhaps remind you — at least a little — of the 1993 film Groundhog Day? You know, like Bill Murray’s character hearing “I Got You Babe” every morning?
Now, if you happen to want to hear the same song at the same time every day, that’s fine with us. But sometimes it’s fun to let the needle find a new groove.

HOLLYWOOD, CA – Band from TV is a collaboration of TV stars/musicians that has raised more than $2 million over the last three years for various causes, first organized and led by Heroes actor Greg Grunberg. For the band's rehearsal space, which doubles as an intimate performance venue, Grunberg is using a new QSC Audio K-Series loudspeaker.
My oldest son has epilepsy and I saw this band as a wonderful vehicle to help raise money for the National Epilepsy Foundation, comments Grunberg. Having band mates who also happen to be in some of the most popular shows on television creates an amazing opportunity to really reach out to our fans to help support these wonderful causes.
