RICHMOND, VA – Lite-Tek Entertainment, production contractor for a series of cheerleading-related dance events sponsored by Cheersport, is working with longtime Turbosound audio supplier Soundworks to give the performers something more effective than just a hand-held megaphone: an Aspect TA-500 loudspeaker system.
Cheersport was founded in 1993 by sports coaches who wanted to support competitive cheerleading and dance. Cheersport has grown substantially since its first National Championships in 1997, and is currently hosting a series of dance events all over the U.S. that kicked off in Atlanta in late September 2009 and go through to April 2010, including the National Cheerleading and Dance Championship to be held in Atlanta in February.

For those of you who watched the Grammy Awards on Sunday night (and apparently there were more of you this year than any year since 2004), you may have had a feeling of déjà vu when you saw virtually the same group of stars that clustered together in 2009, 2008, etc. Does this perhaps remind you — at least a little — of the 1993 film Groundhog Day? You know, like Bill Murray’s character hearing “I Got You Babe” every morning?
Now, if you happen to want to hear the same song at the same time every day, that’s fine with us. But sometimes it’s fun to let the needle find a new groove.

COLOGNE, Germany – Padco supplied a Midas PRO6 for the recent European tour by Queen Esther Marrow and the Harlem Gospel Singers. The tour, which moved through Denmark, France, Austria, Switzerland and Germany, ended in Belgium at the end of January.
FOH engineer Werner Schmidl controlled the console – but not the choice of console itself. As someone who was used to using another brand of digital console, it was hard to convince me, especially as I only had a few hours to get into the PRO6, he noted. However Lars Lüdemann (from Midas' German distributor Mega Audio) did a great job in training me quickly.
