TALLINN, Estonia – The Solaris Cultural and Leisure Centre, a new arts, retail, and cinema complex, features glass walls and roof that lets in sunlight for natural illumination and heating. The center's primary venue, the 1,829-seat Nokia Concert Hall, has been equipped with Meyer Sound's Constellation acoustic system and loudspeakers.
The Nokia Concert Hall is a multi-use venue, hosting a broad range of events from plays, corporate presentations and rock concerts to opera, chamber music and symphony orchestras. The Constellation system's flexibility makes it well-suited to the varying acoustic needs, according to the hall's general manager, Aivar Sirelpuu.

For those of you who watched the Grammy Awards on Sunday night (and apparently there were more of you this year than any year since 2004), you may have had a feeling of déjà vu when you saw virtually the same group of stars that clustered together in 2009, 2008, etc. Does this perhaps remind you — at least a little — of the 1993 film Groundhog Day? You know, like Bill Murray’s character hearing “I Got You Babe” every morning?
Now, if you happen to want to hear the same song at the same time every day, that’s fine with us. But sometimes it’s fun to let the needle find a new groove.

HONOLULU – The weather in Hawaii is always beautiful – except, of course, when it's not. And the 18 years since BAUS Engineering equipped the Waikiki Shell with eight Meyer Sound UPA-1A loudspeakers, mounted on outdoor poles and used as permanent lawn delays, have included storms as fierce as the Category 4 Hurricane Iniki in 1992.
They were outside through the hurricane and numerous tropical storms, said John Fuhrmann, the event services manager for the City of Honolulu's Department of Enterprise Services, the venue's operator. Also, the Shell operates year round, so they were constantly exposed to humidity and salt air. We used them for every show, and we've been very pleased with them.

I normally wouldn’t spend 20 minutes watching a video online, but this is something so special I had to interrupt my regularly scheduled blog to post it.
Aimee Mullins has built a career as a model, actor and activist for women, sports and the next generation of prosthetics. The records she broke at the 1996 Paralympic Games made people notice, but it’s what she’s done since that’s truly admirable. Plenty of people pay lip service to the idea of not giving up, of not acknowledging “can’t” and choosing not to wallow in self-pity, but Aimee is a person who, despite being born without shinbones, truly walks the walk.
