Texas Church Uses VERIS for the Spoken Word

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

SAGINAW, TX – Saginaw Church of Christ is using Community Professional Loudspeakers' VERIS system as part of a long-awaited audio upgrade. The new system includes two VERIS 3294W 12-inch three-way loudspeakers. A pair of VERIS 28W dual 8-inch systems provide side fill.
As Dan Ristow of Fort
Worth-based Heavenly Sound and Video noted, the VERIS system was well-suited to
both the space and the church's worship goals.

Saginaw Church of
Christ is a vocal-only church, so warmth and articulation in spoken word was a
fundamental objective in designing their system, Ristow said. We've
worked with the VERIS system in the past, and were particularly impressed with
its performance on spoken word. The difference was clear, even in a
side-by-side comparison with another more expensive loudspeaker.

More on Musicians & Health Insurance!

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

Yesterday, we told you about FMC’s Billboard Op-Ed about the possible impacts of health care reform on musicians.

Well, right after hitting “publish” on that blog post, we saw this Pitchfork article that also mentions our work on the issue. The piece, called “What’s the Matter With Sweden,” looks at how American musicians have dealt with our health care system over the years. There are a couple of juicy quotes from Alex Maiolo, the program officer for FMC’s Health Insurance Navigation Tool (HINT), which offers free information to musicians looking to learn more about their health insurance options.
