Midas Consoles Travel with “Mister Mystere”

PARIS – FOH engineer Olivier Lude brought his PRO6 live audio system along for the Mister Mystere tour for French rock singer Matthieu Chedid, aka M. The tour is travelling throughout France, Belgium and Switzerland and will end in June at the Zenith concert hall, Paris.
On monitors, Julien Decarne is using an XL8 live performance system supplied by rental company Dispatch together with a Klark Teknik DN9696 high resolution audio recorder and DN9331 Rapide graphic EQ controller.

Waves announces SoundGrid card for Yamaha digital consoles

US: The subject of a lead story in February’s PSNE, SoundGrid has relevance to a wide variety of live sound applications, reports David Davies. As also revealed in the aforementioned issue of Pro Sound News Europe, Waves and DiGiCo have agreed to work together to integrate Waves’ new networking and processing platform into the console manufacturer’s single FPGA Stealth Digital Processing products for the live sound industry.

Penton Media Emerges From Reorganization

NEW YORK – Penton Media reported that its pre-packaged plan of reorganization, which was confirmed by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York on Friday, March 5, has become effective, and the company has officially emerged from Chapter 11.
Penton Media noted that the capital restructuring, completed
in less than 30 days, resulted in the elimination of more than $270 million of
long-term debt and an extension of the maturity on the company's senior secured
credit facility through 2014.

The company added that some of its existing shareholders
made a significant new investment in the company.

UK: This year’s edition of Broadcast Video Expo (BVE) attracted 60 new exhibitors and a 13% increase in visitor numbers, writes David Davies. Audio exhibitors were well-represented, with BCD Audio, CEDAR Audio, Glensound, Harman International, Lawo, Soundfield and Trilogy Communications all making their BVE debuts.
