St. Mary’s Sound Upgrade Includes Symetrix Automix Matrix 780

Sunday, March 14th, 2010

ALBANY, OR – Even though St. Mary's Catholic Church only required one or two mics for most of its services, the church was bedeviled with problems ranging from an unforgiving reverberant space to improper loudspeaker placement. Delta AV system engineers Steve Jellerson and Kurt Bevers addressed the problem with a Symetrix Automix Matrix 780 fixed-architecture DSP, an AMX touchscreen interface and some properly-positioned and tuned loudspeakers.
From our initial discussions, it was apparent
that 85-percent of their services required just one mic at the pulpit and one
wireless mic on the pastor, Jellerson and Bevers noted. They were having
scheduling issues trying to get someone in to run that minimal sound system,
and the whole situation seemed unnecessary to us.

Dutch Companies Order DiGiCo SD8s At ISE

Sunday, March 14th, 2010

AMSTERDAM – The Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) trade show reported 28,489 attendees at the 2010 trade show, a 14 percent gain from 2009. For DiGiCo, the show ended with three more of SD8 mixing consoles added to the inventories of Dutch rental companies.
Purple
Group, which already owned three SD8s, increased that number to five to meet
demand for the gear tours by Dutch acts such as VanVelzen and Kane.

For
VanVelzen we use a double SD8 setup, a standard console and SD8-24, said
Purple Group's Robert de Loey. In venues with small Front of House position,
the 24 channel console is used at FOH with the standard console on monitors,
while in venues with small stages the consoles are swapped over.
