BEAVERTON, OR – Biamp Systems promoted Gina Napoli to vice president of marketing. Napoli reports to Steve Metzger, who was named president of Biamp earlier this year.
As vice president, Napoli will retain her key marketing
responsibilities, which include developing and driving the global marketing
plan, directing new product introductions, overseeing corporate communications,
and directing the activities of the company's external marketing agencies.
As head of training, a key duty will be to advance the Biamp
Education Experience. Napoli will manage a global training team dedicated to
ensuring that integration partners receive the training they need to design and
install Biamp products.

POLAND: Alex Carlin has earned the new Guinness World Record for Longest Concert by a Solo Artist with the aid of a Telefunken Elektroakustik M 80 vocal mic and Gibson J-45 acoustic guitar. Eclipsing the previous record of 27 hours, 3 minutes and 44 seconds, Carlin performed for 32 hours at the Pub Bourbon Street, Radomsko, Poland.

GENEVA – SEAT S.A., a Spanish subsidiary of Volkswagen's Audi Brand Group, debuted several new car models at the Geneva Motor Show with a performance by Shakira. Pere Capell of BTM Sound specified an Out Board TiMax2 SoundHub for the multi-channel sound system used at the event.
TiMax2 SoundHub
was used as the system matrix to tie together the exhibition stand's
distributed presentation system and a concert sound system used for the press
launch.

SWITZERLAND: PSN-e has been informed that sales of Midas’s PRO6 and XL8 into install enjoyed “large double digit growth” during 2009, reports David Davies. In the latest in a long line of high-profile installations, X-Tra Club in Zurich has been equipped with a PRO6 Live Audio System by Swiss distributor Audiotech.
