But business relationships and customer service were as important then as now. Shure Inc. will honor Millar Electronics in October as it marks its 60th year as a Shure representative.
Millar's business was
initially based on electric motors and parts. As the emerging audio business grew, large distributors of
industrial equipment were joined by electronics dealers that emerged to handle
specialized products like sound systems.
Millar's well-established relationships with these vendors made it the
ideal choice to represent Shure's line of audio equipment, and thus began a
fruitful partnership in 1950.

STOURBRIDGE, U.K. – Stage Audio Services, which supplies live audio production for events ranging from TV shows and sports events to touring, has become the U.K.'s first rental purchaser of the Renkus-Heinz IC Live digitally steerable array system.
The company describes its
first four clients' reactions to the system, which was rated an
impressive performer in a recent loudspeaker shoot-out, as
bowled over by its sound and looks.

Polar Audio, U.K. distributor
for Renkus-Heinz, signed the deal after a week of trial runs by Stage Audio
Services that included the Courtney Pine-headlined Mostly Jazz Festival in
Birmingham and four large corporate events. Its first commercial outing was the
quarter final of the Twenty20 cricket tournament at Edgbaston in mid-July.
