Stiernberg Consulting, the leading business development firm to the audio, video and multimedia industries, has issued their industry megatrends overview white paper for Q1 of 2010.
As part of the company’s ongoing series of quarterly industry-focused analyses, the current Stiernberg Consulting white paper offers a fresh perspective on current global economic trends and their effect on sales, marketing, brand building and communications.
“The common thread running through virtually all conversations we’ve had over the past few months has been the dual effects of globalization and our economic downturn,” observes Stiernberg Consulting’s founder and principal consultant, John Stiernberg. “The good news is, we’re seeing an exceptional degree of cautious optimism throughout the technology sector, and we believe that bodes well for a pattern of slow but stead growth in the coming months.”

He’s been performing longer than many of his fans have been alive, but Paul Weller’s concerts are hardly a parade of oldies. The legendary Modfather continues to bend and blend musical genres, and with a fan base that spans more than thirty years of hits, Weller’s recent arena tours have been sold out across four continents.
London-based Canegreen have been looking after Weller for much of his career, and provided a powerful backline for the shows, including a massive Meyer Sound line array and a Digidesign D-Show VENUE live sound mixing environment. FOH engineer Ange Jones has been mixing the tour on a 32-fader D-Show Main and Sidecar system with Stage and FOH racks.
For a sound company, there are few scenarios more challenging than the ambient noise of an aircraft or two. That probably makes the guys from Continental Air Show Productions either masochists or experts (they’d probably say a little of both). The company spends their days pumping it up loud enough to be heard over the roar of several dozen of the loudest military jets on the planet. To get louder than this stuff, you’ve got to be good, and these guys have proven their stuff over forty years in the industry.

Coordinating with Greenbuild 2009, Habitat for Humanity assembled a small army of volunteers to construct a 3-bedroom, 2-bath house in Phoenix in only five days. The home, made possible through donations from Wells Fargo and a number of participating companies, was designed to have a minimal carbon footprint, generating enough energy to offset energy used by its occupants. Part of that system was a 5kW PV solar system donated by American Solar Electric as part of the company’s Community Outreach Program.
